This is weird:

"British troops used tanks last night to break down the walls of a prison in the southern Iraqi city of Basra and free two undercover British soldiers who were seized earlier in the day by local police." Guardian
The soldiers were arrested for killing Iraqi police...
Storming the prison? Wain ga3deen?? Oh yeah, occupied Iraq...
.
Wait that's not all, Look:
.
British forces smashed a prison wall with an armoured vehicle to free two undercover soldiers in Basra, south Iraq, but discovered they were being held elsewhere and released them, the Defense Ministry said on Tuesday. Reuters

Uhh, so now The Brits are joining hands with Al-Qaeda in killing local police?

Can't wait to see the US object and demand a share or it will start breaking into prisons too...

I know lots of people are angry about what went (and is still going) on in Iraq. I know lots of people are suffering, and I know it's unfair. The thing is though, what's done is done. Pointing fingers and whatnot doesn't help. The Americans, the Brits, and whoever else is there, are just stumbling around in the dark, now. There is no correct way to fix this.

Hi mbh, and D'n'G, I just thought it was really weird that they had to create such a production. Very 'Rambo', and bizzare.
I'm not sure which part is pointing fingers though..it's a new item that is odd..
True, what's already done can't be changed, but what continues to be done or will be done in the future..that can be changed, and unless the fingers are pointed in the right direction or at least an attempt is made to discover the right direction then bad things will continue to happen..

And D'n'G, good to have you back from Cyprus :)

Yes but in the meantime, pointing at the wrong people, people who are over there against their will, risking their lives as well, and just basically trying to help (because they were ordered to) and yet still getting bad cred. by the rest of the world... It's kinda mean dontcha' think? Besides even if you do point at the person responsible, if he's too high up (untouchable), will any amount of pointing really effect him? I mean the whole world knows he's a douche and yet he's still in power. *shrugs* It's great to be back! :) Like I said, if I don't blog for awhile or at least check everyone else's blogs, I go nuts! Take care, Laters!

So is it that people are supposed to just shrug their shoulders and say 'oh well, can't say anything'...isn't free speech about saying what you think is wrong (or right), so then someone can disagree with you and maybe you'll both figure out that you were both a little wrong and a little right?
I don't think anyone is holding the poor young people who are ordered to do stupid things by their superiors more responsible than the guys on top(with regard to this post, I think the orders were weird more than anything)...
I have to say that I would never choose a job where i wld be ordered to do things that are against my principles and not be able to say no..so there is some responsibility on the shoulders of those taking orders too.
like Burroughs says "modern man has lost the option of silence"..if you think something is wrong, or right, or weird, or beautiful..speak loud and clear I say.. I also say you are invited and encouraged to tell me you disagree with me on any point..
I'm not that mean am I D'n'G?

No, no, no! That's not what I meant. I don't think we should turn a blind eye or shrug our shoulders and go "oh well". I'm all for free speech and figuring out who is wrong and who is right.

I just think that some of the people might not have the luxury of a choice. For example, if you had a family solely dependent on you for financial support, wouldn't it effect your decision to stay at your job even though your job clashed with your values? So you take that job, even though you might not like it, to put food on the table. In turn, wouldn't you want your family to support you? You as in personally, not as in your job and what you do at it.

Wouldn't it make you feel even worse if your family (whom you took said job for) actually pointed at you and bad-mouthed you and basically made you feel even worse (which is mean) about taking said job when it was a necessity in their favor. I'm not saying the "war on iraq" was in anyone's favor. What I'm saying is the people who go their might not like it, but they have to go and do their job. You don't really have a choice when the President of the United States says "Go do this", or "Go do that". I mean you do have a choice but it's really not much of a choice. Say yes and go do what he wants or say no and see what happens? And no sweetie you are not mean, not in the slightest and I'm not just saying that just cuz I think of you as a friend.
