Bloggers beware...

Save the internet....or else bloggers and others will be forced to use a slow lane on the internet unless they shell out large sums of money...you have AT&T and its friends to thank for the greed..

"Costs will skyrocket to post and share video and audio clips, silencing bloggers and amplifying the big media companies. Political organising could be slowed by a handful of dominant internet providers who ask groups or candidates to pay a fee to join the "fast lane".'"
-
Why Worry?
1-" Bloggers—Costs will skyrocket to post and share video and audio clips—silencing citizen journalists and putting more power in the hands of a few corporate-owned media outlets"
2- "Ipod listeners—A company like Comcast could slow access to iTunes, steering you to a higher-priced music service that it owned."
3- "Online purchasers—Companies could pay Internet providers to guarantee their online sales process faster than competitors with lower prices—distorting your choice as a consumer."
More reasons here
-
"Network Neutrality — or "Net Neutrality" for short — is the guiding principle that preserves the free and open Internet.
Net Neutrality ensures that all users can access the content or run the applications and devices of their choice. With Net Neutrality, the network's only job is to move data — not choose which data to privilege with higher quality service. Net Neutrality prevents the companies that control the wires from discriminating against content based on its source or ownership."

Hi 3baid...too bad about that, eh?
This last outpost of the free world is getting fences and tolls and sentries built by the all-holy cha-ching..
Hi Shemsi, yes indeed. Get everyone you know to contact their senators and let them know that they support net-neutrality..The contact numbers are on the save the internet web site and how's about letting At&T know too.

Grenadine,
Springsteen said it well:
'Shelter line stretching around the corner,
Welcome to the new world order.
Families sleepin' in their cars in the Southwest.
No home, no job, no peace, no rest.'

Fuzzy, dial-up? yikes (I still have dial-up in some locations...it's hellish)
